A heartbreaking and lighthearted documentary, it's a vérité glimpse into the world of techno that takes you around the world, following the people who make electronic music ... their lives.

Beat! beat! drums!--Blow! bugles! blow! Through the windows--through doors--burst like a ruthless force, Into the solemn church, and scatter the congregation; Into the school where the scholar is studying; Leave not the bridegroom quiet--no happiness must he have now with his bride; Nor the peaceful farmer any peace, plowing his field or gathering his grain; So fierce you whirr and pound, you drums--so shrill you bugles blow.
Beat! beat! drums!--Blow! bugles! blow! Over the traffic of cities--over the rumble of wheels in the streets:
So strong you thump, O terrible drums--so loud you bugles blow.
Beat! Beat! Drums! Walt Whitman

After a brief silence, Two Circles Records returns with Objectif Lune the creative summation of French producer Doubting Thomas. His second release on Two Circles, following the exploratory Self-Definition, yields a powerful representation of sonic growth. Coupled with original artwork by Tess Keller the release delivers what it promises, a provocative listen from beginning to end. "Mellowcore" opens with a deep, rolling vibe, housing a certain bounce unique to Doubting Thomas' style. It is followed by "Along and Gone" which furthers the theme of stripped down soundscapes coupled with captivating hypnotic grooves. Moving in a more bizarre direction "Inconsistent" introduces an abstract vibe garnished with found sound. "Output 12" is a smooth, jazz influenced exploration into rhythm and groove, rounded out by haunting brass instrumentation. British musician Daphne lends her hand on the floor focused "Coming From Under", with haunting synthlines and drumwork that urges the listener to continue on the album's deep and dark path. "Virgule" follows in the footsteps of "Coming From Under" further pursuing the cavernous, deep theme developed throughout the release. The final track brings light to Doubting Thomas' ability to cross genres at ease, "Come Back Tomorrow" is a trip through experimental broken beat. Objectif Lune combines electronic precision with organic freedom coaxing the listener into following Doubting Thomas down his sonic path.
Like the fisherman gathers fish with his fishing pole. I'm a mellow man catching tunes with his music soul.
